The editor provides syntax highlighting and stays synchronized with an expandable structure tree. Selecting a node helps users move between the visual hierarchy and the source document. Breadcrumbs, filename context, and text search make large XML documents easier to navigate. ### XML formatter, minifier, and cleanup presets XML Lens pretty-prints compressed XML for easier reading and code review. It can minify XML for compact payloads and remove XML comments. Built-in presets include Compact for API, Readable for review, and Strip comments. ### XPath for macOS The XPath runner evaluates expressions against the open document and shows matching nodes with XML previews and execution timing. Queries can be saved as reusable snippets, pinned for quick access, reused, or deleted. ### XML comparison and diff export The Compare workspace accepts files or pasted XML in two editable panes. It automatically identifies additions, removals, and changed lines and lets users move through differences. Comparison results can be exported as Markdown, HTML, or PDF reports. ### Search, themes, text zoom, and history Text search includes previous and next match navigation. XML Lens includes Dark, Light, Ocean, Forest, and Sepia themes. Editor, tree, and compare text can be enlarged, reduced, or reset with familiar macOS shortcuts. Usage history summarizes recent opens, formatting, minification, XPath runs, comparisons, exports, processed documents, and recent success rate. ## Common use cases - Format or minify XML API payloads. - Inspect large configuration files through a structure tree. - Search tags, attributes, and values. - Run and save XPath queries. - Compare staging and production XML. - Export diff evidence for QA, release review, or support. - Review XML locally when document content should not be uploaded to a web tool. ## Privacy XML document content is processed locally. XML Lens does not upload XML text, filenames, file paths, XPath expressions, search terms, selected nodes, or exported reports. XML Lens does not collect product analytics, installation identifiers, session identifiers, feature events, locale, file-size ranges, or usage history from the app. The app has no advertising and does not use cross-app tracking.
