## What XML Lens does

### XML viewer and editor for Mac

XML Lens opens local XML files and also accepts pasted, typed, or dragged XML. The editor provides syntax highlighting and stays synchronized with an expandable structure tree. Selecting a node helps users move between the visual hierarchy and the source document. Breadcrumbs, filename context, and text search make large XML documents easier to navigate.

### XML formatter, minifier, and cleanup presets

XML Lens pretty-prints compressed XML for easier reading and code review. It can minify XML for compact payloads and remove XML comments. Built-in presets include Compact for API, Readable for review, and Strip comments.

### XPath for macOS

The XPath runner evaluates expressions against the open document and shows matching nodes with XML previews and execution timing. Queries can be saved as reusable snippets, pinned for quick access, reused, or deleted.

### XML comparison and diff export

The Compare workspace accepts files or pasted XML in two editable panes. It automatically identifies additions, removals, and changed lines and lets users move through differences. Comparison results can be exported as Markdown, HTML, or PDF reports.
